Fertility tests are an important part of the evaluation and treatment of fertility. Through tests, your doctor can determine what prevents you and your partner from getting pregnant.
Your usual gynecologist can do some basic tests. Or, you’ll be mentioned a reproductive endocrinologist (a fertility doctor) or a urologist (for male infertility) for more comprehensive fertility tests.
Fertility tests involve both parties. While we might imagine that pregnancy occurs within the adult female body, the conception requires two!
Go to infertility doctors
If you are concerned about infertility, the best thing you can do is make an appointment with a doctor, preferably an infertility specialist. He or she will start talking with you and your partner about your health and medical habits. Although you may find some of the questions awkward or embarrassing, it is the best way to assess what could be causing problems. In many cases, infertility is the result of a combination of problems, sometimes in each couple, which makes a thorough examination important.
Before seeing a specialist, make sure you understand the costs of infertility tests and if your insurance will cover them.
